 Jane the Virgin is an American satirical romantic comedy-drama telenovela developed by Jennie Snyder Urman, that debuted on The CW on October 13, 2014. It is a loose adaptation of the Venezuelan telenovela Juana la Virgen created by Perla Farías. The series stars Gina Rodriguez as Jane Villanueva, a working, religious young Latina virgin, who becomes pregnant after being accidentally artificially inseminated. The program parodies commonly used tropes and devices in Latin telenovelas. Jane the Virgin has received critical acclaim since its premiere. At the 72nd Golden Globe Awards, Gina Rodriguez won the award for Best Actress – Television Series, Musical or Comedy, while the show was nominated for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. The series also received the Peabody Award and was named a TV Program of the Year by the American Film Institute. |

I watched the first 2 seasons I think and loved it but sadly never kept up with it after that and its got the point now where I barely remember much about it and cba to start over again. I loved what I watched though, it reminded me of Ugly Betty at points which is my favourite TV show of all time

It’s definitely a similar type of comedy I think, and they’re both based on telenovelas If I remember correctly.

I always want to watch the next episode as soon as possible! |
