If you’ve been feeling a void of symphonic metal of late, you can look forward to 2018 as one of the genre’s biggest acts is returning to the stage. Nightwish have announced plans to play the “Decades: World Tour” beginning in 2018.
The trek is expected to be a massive one, spanning nine months and spending a fair amount of time in North America with 34 shows spread throughout the U.S. and Canada. The North American portion of the run starts March 9 in Atlanta and continues through April 22 in Miami.
The “Decades” tour should be a pleasing one for longtime fans as the band is crafting a special set list for the tour, featuring rarely heard material from their early days while also providing some of their older songs with some new twists thrown in just to make it interesting. The set lists are expected to be a one-off and only performed during the “Decades: World Tour” throughout next year.
On top of the massive trek, the band’s label, Nuclear Blast, is also prepping a two-disc compilation called Decades that will dig into the band’s history as well. The set is due March 9, 2018.
