Mini song contest (Share a loved song to three members)
The idea and style of this mini game is to have a bit of the fun feel to playing in a regular song contest game between members of a forum or community. Minus the Eurovision style voting results. (or the anonymous song entries)
This is a game where someone submits a song and "three" other people rate and comment on it. These three song raters can be anyone who wishes to participate and is a member of this forum, they are not decided by the member submitting the song. Your rating of someone's song can either be a "green rating", meaning thumbs up or that you liked the song, Neutral, meaning that you have no positive or negative thoughts about the song either way, or a "red rating" meaning that you disliked the song.
So the three possible outcomes of given ratings for a song submitted here can be..
1) Green rating - You generally liked the song.
2) Neutral rating - You are undecided or didn't like nor dislike the song.
3) Red rating - You generally disliked the song.
Each song rater "must" leave a short simple comment about the song as well. As this will decide the winner of who can submit the next song if the song submitor does not win by enough green votes. Please be nice, no angry bashing of someone's song!
After "three" people have posted a rating and commented on someone's submitted song, the votes will decide weather the song submitor wins the game and gets to submit another song or if one of the "three" song voters wins and gets to be the next song submittor.
How the winner is decided: The song submitor "must" get at least "two" "green votes" (good votes) out of the "three" song voters to win and get to post another song for review. Neutral votes don't count or add anything to the changes of the song submittor winning. If the song submitor gets less than 2 green votes, he or she must pick the "most interesting or liked comment" from one of the three song voters. Which ever song voter is picked for their song comment wins and gets to be the next song submitor.
Again, if the song submittor gets 2 or more green votes, he or she wins and gets to post another song for others to review. There is no limit on how many times someone can win and post another song for review.
Note: If more than three people accidently post a vote and comment of someones submitted song, the forth and so on post will be ignored and "discounted" from the game. The song voters are not selected and show up at random for whoever wants to participate.
Feel free to post a loved song of yours if you win or are selected as the winner here and test the waters to see what people of the forum think of your song. Or you can just pick a song that you aren't too crazy about but you perhaps think that others here will like it. (if you are a winner from a previous round or are selected as the next winner)
Important rule: No song over ten minutes may be submitted.
This game was created by me many years ago for the old last fm forums, then I moved it to my own forum after last fm took away the groups. Now I have copied it here, since I think that you guys will enjoy this game. It was always a big favorite over in my forum and in the last fm groups.
