Avril Lavigne Promises New Music Will 'Be Here Before You Know It'Avril Lavigne is making progress on her new album. With a Twitter post Thursday, the āGirlfriendā singer thanked her fans to their patience and rewarded them with an update on her next release. āTo my fans,ā she wrote. āI just want to thank everyone for their patience as I work on putting together this new album. Itās been a long recovery and I want to make sure that this is perfect for you guys!!ā Her forthcoming sixth album will be the followup to Lavigneās self-titled 2014 set, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200. āYou only deserve my best effort and thatās what Iām going to deliver!ā Lavigne added. āI canāt wait to share the new music Iām working on, I promise itāll be here before you know it!! Love you, Avril.ā The as-yet untitled album will be the Canadian pop singerās first through a new deal with BMG, which Lavigne revealed earlier this year. Whether she's still on track for a late 2017 release date remains to be seen. At the time of the announcement, Lavigne spoke to Billboard about how her new music was shaping up. "I challenged myself as a songwriter and I wanted to write about topics I hadn't hit on before," Lavigne explained. "There's the love topic, but a lot of these songs are about life. I've experienced a lot over the past few years, and some of the songs just came to me. I went with Let Go because I remember loving every single song so much when it came out. Under My Skin was such a great follow up though, and has some great slightly deeper tracks. TBDT was a fantastic fun pop record too. The other two are a bit more hit and miss for me.

I went with Let Go because I remember loving every single song so much when it came out. Under My Skin was such a great follow up though, and has some great slightly deeper tracks. TBDT was a fantastic fun pop record too. The other two are a bit more hit and miss for me. Let Go is her only album I don't like, it has like 6 great songs but I never really got into the rest! |

She seems to stay on pretty good terms with her ex's. I like a few Nickleback songs but yeah, I wouldn't want them near Avril. Her husband featuring on Let Me Go brought the song down a lot to be honest. |

Wish You Were Here is indeed an incredible song and in her Top 5 best songs. She should have took a risk and released it as the lead. WTH did decently despite it being the same old sound so you never know, maybe WYWH would have done even better.

Ballad first and sure fire pop hit as the second single. She still had the presence to pull that off, back then. |
