Storyteller is the fifth studio album recorded by American singer and songwriter Carrie Underwood. It was released on October 23, 2015, by Sony Music Nashville. Following the release and success of her fourth studio album, Blown Away (2012), Underwood began working on Storyteller in early 2014. However, she tentatively suspended most work on the album because of her pregnancy with her first child. In the midterm, Underwood released her first greatest hits record, Greatest Hits: Decade #1, on December 9, 2014, to much success. After the birth of her son, she took some additional time off before going back into the studio in early 2015 to finish working on the album. Met with mostly positive reviews from music critics, Storyteller became a commercial success and set multiple records upon its release. By debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, it made Underwood the only country artist in history to have all of her first five studio albums debut at number one or two, and with a number one debut on the Top Country Albums chart, it made her the only artist to score six consecutive number one albums on the chart. Storyteller also performed well internationally upon its release, including a number four debut in Australia, number three in Canada and thirteen in the United Kingdom. As of October 2016, the album has been certified Platinum by the RIAA.[2] It marks Underwood's sixth consecutive album to go either Platinum or multi-Platinum. The album has produced the back-to-back Billboard Country Airplay chart number-one singles "Heartbeat" and "Church Bells", along with the number-two singles "Smoke Break" and Dirty Laundry. "Smoke Break","Hearbeat" and "Dirty Laundry" also topped the Billboard Canada Country chart. The first three singles have been certified gold by the RIAA.[3] Storyteller is Underwood's last album under the Arista Nashville and Sony Music Group, following her new deal with Universal Music Group's Capitol Nashville.[4] Tracklist: 1. "Renegade Runaway" 2. "Dirty Laundry" 3. "Church Bells" 4. "Heartbeat" 5. "Smoke Break" 6. "Choctaw County Affair" 7. "Like I'll Never Love You Again" 8. "Chaser" 9. "Relapse" 10. "Clock Don't Stop" 11. "The Girl You Think I Am" 12. "Mexico" 13. "What I Never Knew I Always Wanted" 14. "Heartbeat" (stripped) 15. "Little Girl Don't Grow Up Too Fast"

Lead Single, Smoke Break "Smoke Break" is a song recorded by American country music artist Carrie Underwood from her fifth studio album, Storyteller. It was released on August 21, 2015, through Sony Music Nashville, as the album's lead single. It was written by Underwood, Chris DeStefano, and Hillary Lindsey, and was produced by Jay Joyce. Musically, it has lyrics about escaping life's many stresses. "Smoke Break" was met with critical acclaim, with music critics describing it as "a homage to hard working people in need of a breather". It quickly became a commercial success, setting an all-time record for the largest first-week adds at country radio. It went on to reach number one on the Billboard Canada Country chart and number two on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in the US, becoming her 20th top-two single on the chart. The song's accompanying music video was directed by Randee St. Nicholas and won the 2016 CMT Music Award for Female Video of the Year. The song received its first televised performance at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, on September 10, 2015.

2nd Single, Heartbeat "Heartbeat" is a song recorded by American singer and songwriter Carrie Underwood from her fifth studio album, Storyteller. It was written by Underwood, Ashley Gorley, and the song's producer, Zach Crowell. Country music singer Sam Hunt sings backing vocals on the track. The song was released to the radio by Arista Nashville on November 30, 2015 as the album's second single, after "Smoke Break". Musically, "Heartbeat" is a country pop and a R&B song with lyrics that relate to the feeling of intimacy experienced by being alone with one's lover. It appears to be inspired by Underwood's marriage to Mike Fisher. "Heartbeat" was met with positive reviews from music critics and became a commercial success. It reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, becoming Underwood's fourteenth leader on the chart, widening her record for the most number-one's among women in the history of the chart. It also topped the Billboard Canada Country chart. The song received its first televised performance on the twelfth season of The X Factor on November 29, 2015. Underwood has since performed the song live on television at the 2015 American Music Awards and at the 58th Grammy Awards (along with Hunt).

It is her second number one from Storyteller on the Country Airplay chart. Underwood became the first woman in 2016 to have two number-ones on the chart. The song was certified Gold by the RIAA on August 3, 2016.[2] The song was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance at the 59th Grammy Awards.

I haven't listened to this album yet, I remember Carrie from American Idol and Dan re-introduced me to Carrie when I was going through a tough time, she's basically my go to when I'm like, feeling down or whatever.

Relapse is indeed amazing, as is Chaser! Both of which would've made better singles than Dirty Laundry. The Church Bells vid is a mess but it still went number 1π

It could quite possibly be her old label releasing a live album as a cash in, now that she's changed labels.
